When I bought the car in 2006 there was no such thing as car insurance...my general insurance does not even offer it.
Secondly having lived in Seattle/Dallas and Los Angeles for more than 8 years and having 2 BMW's there with tyre insurance I checked when back in Sydney...and it was unavailable.
Then again why should I pay $500 to insure something not suitable for the conditions, and you may pay $50K for this car we pay over $130K.
Last but not least...our roads suck compared to the US roads
