Tried that today. You must have fingers of steel.
I ended up taking my BMW strut bar off and the factory strut bar just moves out of the way a bit, enough to clear the adjustment bolt on the strut.
I backed out the adjustment all the way and it FEELS like it's stiffer, not softer but I'll mess more with it tomorrow. I had to go to sears and buy a new jack since mine no longer fits under the car
