So, I double-checked with the dealer, and the car is Certified, just from the last owner/sale. They did do a '110-point inspection' which I hadn't heard of, but passed. The CPO warranty is valid, but it extends only until September - (I learned the car was purchased September '06, it was the CPO warranty I was referring to in my OP, not the factory. My mistake).
Would it be worth it getting an extended?
BTW,
here's the listing of the car on Cars.com. The dealership is BMW of Alexandria, and I left messages with Alexandria Bavarian and Martin Motorsport to try and get it inspected with one of the two.
