Some more detail:
Prodrive are a Motorsport and vehicle engineering company based in Banbury. They have been running since the mid eighties and have won six World Rally Championships, five British Touring Car Championships as well as winning their class at Le Mans three times.
They currently run a MINI WRC team, as well as supplying all of the factory and private cars running in the WRC and under S2000 rules. Aston Martin Racing is run exclusively by them and they also run Ford's V8 championship team in Australia.
As well as their Motorsport activities, they provide specialist support to motor manufacturers (I think they had some involvement in developing the X6 active yaw control) and have a manufacturing facility able to produce small volume high precision components. Even McLaren have used them for this capability.
The tour starts off in the heritage centre, where a selection of past cars such as the 911SCRS, Imprezas, BTCC Mondeo, Aston DBR9, BAR Honda F1 etc. From here you are then taken on a tour of the facilities through various workshops and machining areas. Obviously the mix of cars in will vary dependant upon the races happening at the time, but expect to see areas where road cars are stripped cut and new structure welded in, build areas, wiring areas and test / refurbishment areas. The tours are conducted by Jackie, who has a in-depth knowledge of all the work that they have carried out over the years, as well as many anecdotes regarding the teams and drivers.
Cost will be £22 per person, maximum 25 people, under 16s free, but no babies! Tea and biscuits normally laid on as well.
