boostd92:
100% your install has a flaw in it.
We have installed over 80 pairs of these in house with ZERO noises
The problem has nothing to do with the rubber thin piece being used.
Its either one of the following:
1. When you tightened the top nut of the shock you didnt hold the shaft and it spinned while you tried to tighten the nut which in turn didnt tighten at all. This is the most common error people make when installing any aftermarket spring or our perch in an E90 or E92. If you tighten this nut properly the noises and strange feeling you get will be elimnated
2. You did not seat the perch all the way down onto the spring. The end of the spring must go to the end of the perch. There is a built in spring on the perch which holds and locks the spring into place.
NO noise will come from the assembly if you properly install the item and make sure the top nut is tightened
I am 100% confident in this product. We have sold 150 pairs now and everytime there is a noise complaint it was due to an improper installation and the problem was isolated and solved
