Great write up bud.
Preferences are different for different people.
For example, if I was after a cheap and economical car then, I would be driving VW passat with more space in the boot or japanese car in terms of reliability.
But opted for beemer for fun.
When it comes to dashcams, DOD is best quality camera but size and shape is the drawback. Can't see mini dslr hanging on to the windscreen.
My preference is compact, sleek dashcam without lcd but with wi-fi.
So I can connect it to my phone to see the live video or at least record samples. And to be able to adjust the specs with phone so no need to connect it to laptop.
Only few dashcam can do.
I've been keeping an eye on Blackvue for a while but night video recording is shocking.
Then looked at IONE, and again video quality is the problem. Also few members reported it killing the memory card within months.
Finally ordered COWON from UK dealer so if any problem arises, I can return it.
Video quality is good if not excellent but phone application is better than all other competitors.
Having external GPS makes it better as I have been told that external GPS antenna picks up signals quicker.
Awaiting for delivery now!
Thanks for input though and keeping this thread alive.
