Everyone's driving record is different. . . 14k would mean you probably have had a ton of accidents and/or tickets which puts you in the very high risk percentage of drivers. Tickets stay in the insurance database for 3 years
14k a year sounds like your driving record is like mine lmao. . .
Best advice would be to take the defensive driving course($100) offered by AMA which will deduct 3 demerits off your license and then take drivers education($750 I think) which normally youths take, but taking the classroom sessions and in car testing will get you 30% off your early insurance and give you a better driver/risk assessment to the insurance companies.
That's what I did anyways. . . it was well worth while and you learn some things.
