Good to know that one day BMW may work it out with the immobilizer being recognized by the insurance industry here. Like Picus, my annual rate only went up by about $100 annually too when going from an '01.5 QX4 to my '06 330xi. Something like $17k difference in MSRP so I was pleasantly surprised even if they don't recognize immobilizer, BMW assist, etc... as of yet.

Edit: I would have had the alarm installed, but in mid-August the dealer told me they're not allowed by head office as at the time they were having compatibility issues between the siren and whatever version Progman was out. I never did end up going back to get it done, not sure if insurance will even recognize it. I'm just afraid that a software update will screw something up like bluetooth with is working perfectly right now.
