I know how you feel, there's just too many different opinions/reviews out there but none compare them all

Hmm, don't fully agree with that. I agree that yes a shite winter tyre will outperform the best summer tyre in snow, but it's the other non-snow times (i.e. 99% of the time) that's just as important.

My winters will be on for over 3 months (fecking Scottish winter temperatures...) and I do "boot" the car when the roads are dry during winter. The dry performance of winter tyres varies dramatically, as does wet/snow performance, so it's worth getting a decent set IMO.
