Hi there,
I sometimes have the same problem,
it started since I removed/put back the rubber boot between the cabin and engine compartment.
It sits on the steering column/spindle low down under the the dashboard trim.

The rubber is sealed with a ring and sort of a felt joint against the steering column.

Unmount the lower dashboard trim and spray a little silicone oil on the joint,
and the problem should be gone.
