I actually have some sympathy for the seller only because of location. Look around his neighbors cars and that gives you an idea of the locals.
You will get lot of test pilots specially car of that performance.
You have to look beyond the asking price of £14k and see its a still a powerful car and potential to do a accident and the test pilot does a runner.
Only thing i would add "provide comprehensive insurance before any test drive".
Most genuine buyers will be happy to provide that insurance.
And most seller would want to view car at registered address. How would the car be any more of theft risk than yesterday unless its no longer insured.
I think the seller may had bad experience in the past and just being over protective.
But yes i would also not call the seller after reading some bits
