High pressure fuel pump failures have been reported in VW common rail engines but so far there is no proof any additive would have helped.
The oil companies already use additives that are specific to the base stock available.

IDK.....I'm still a bit skeptical. I just ordered an 8 month supply of opti lube. All of the diesel heads recommend it so I figure for $50 bucks I'll give it a shot. I don't think it will hurt anything. At the end of the day I'll just be out $50. That better odds than I've done in my retirement fund.
