Don't take my word as gospel, but from what I have read on the various recommended tuner/garage websites, the DPF removal includes a change to the engine management so it doesn't flash up warning messages and most of the places that will do the removal also offer a remap for power gain, better mpg, etc. From reading many threads, it looks like the car will feel as if it performs better with the DPF removed anyway.

Curiously enough, this morning I was in limp home mode with a rev restriction of about 3,000 rpm, then on the motorway I noticed a cloud of smoke behind me and thought, this is it, dead car and after about 5 minutes, it all cleared, car power was back to normal so whether a regen had finally kicked in? I didn't get the usual Particle Filter warning message after 10 minutes drive either.....
