Not advisable to combine non-RFTs and RFTs as they have different ride chracteristics and could prove dangerous.

As far as your choice of non-RFTs - Michelin PS2s, Continental Sport Contact 3 & Goodyear F1 Assymetrics seem to be very popular.

Best bet for the boot of the car would be a jack, air compressor and some cans of tyreweld.

You should see a massive improvement in ride comfort as the sidewalls of non-RFTs are much softer, but you will lose some of the "turn-in" of the RFTs for this reason.
