I have a DSC T-5 for point and shoot, on the go applications. I think for outdoor applications this camera is pretty good but I find the flash weak. The battery life is very good and the start-up time is pretty fast. I also think the camera is very pretty and expensive looking for the money.
I wish I had bought the T9, only the T9 was yet to be introduced at the time. I believe the T9 is marginally thinner/lighter but the trump card on that model is the image stabilization and the more powerful flash (needed for effective indoor/night shots to reduce the red eye problems plaguing the T5, T7, T33 and T1 I believe).
The T-5 seems better built I might add. I didn't like the T7 for the left hand side orientation and there doesn't seem like much to differentiate the T5 and T7.
Out of the entire family, only the T-5 have the tripod mount below.
That's all the random thoughts on the subject I have in my mind...hope that helps a little.
