Yeah I would do the Vanos solenoids before anything. Also check ur gas cap. Sometimes a lose gas cap or a defective one causes SES light. If you can read ur logs when they SES light is on till get a faulty code. I used the Torque APP on android to read/clear mine but clean/swap ur vanos especially with the mileage you have.
