I'm afraid no experience of this yet. But I would try to find the gasket and replace it if I were you. No use tightening bolts if the gasket has gone bad.
You might try Autozone, I just checked for my wife's 328i and they list one for it @ $36.99. You can compare this to dealer pricing just in case...
