I have done this by hand before and it was very simple to do. I used the Royal Purple and the filter was ordered online. In the end it was only like 15 bucks cheaper than my local dealer. So I just use them for right now. But this DIY was huge in walking be through my first BMW oil change. Thanks so much for this and the tips from the rest of the users in the thread.
