I am assuming, that you won't be pushing at your extreme, after all it is unfamiliar surroundings, and benefit of it being a closed event, it is unlikely that you will be going all out toe to toe with other drivers. Going on how Ian described the day, it seems that you can tackle the circuit at your own pace. After all he did say he pitted the car every few laps to keep the brakes optimum.
The way I see it is, you're more likely to have an incident driving at 7/10 on the road ( when you take into acocunt all the variables) than you are at 9/10 on the track.
