Looked underneath and its ONLY around the rear of the pan, the front looks dry (though it was parked on a slight incline). I also didnt notice any spray by the back of the tranny. It was dripping off of the pan bolts.....
any similarities? mines an A6 though... fml

Problem is any wind/fan air relocates the oil, so it's a PITA to narrow down where it comes from sometimes.
My truck dumped a bunch of oil in my garage. Looking under it, I was 95% sure it was the rear seal of the motor. Turns out the dipstick tube rode out of the block, and it was leaking from there (totally unrelated area)....
