kind of depends on your goals but i would say to start you should focus on the basic moves first and get them down properly then try and advance the weight. squats for legs, bench for chest, deadlifts for legs and back, barbell curls for arms, skull crushers for triceps, dumbell press for shoulders, and so on. try and hit each muscle group at least once per week. lots of people overtrain and its as the name implies unnecessary. ive trained with weights for over 20 years and have competed in powerlifting. use a simple plan from the internet, book or magazine and stick with it for a month or so then begin to incorporate more and more advanced moves as you develop.
