Fuels as tested by Fifth Gear

Hi guys, know this has been the subject of another thread as to what fuel we use but this my first thread so go easy!

Currently on Foxtel they are showing old repeats from a few years ago of the UK car programme Fifth Gear (like Top Gear except have a hotter presenter by the name of Vicki! at least from my point of view.)

Anyway, programme last night tested "normal" supermarket 95 fuel, BP ultimate and Shell optimax.

Three new cars (2004) were used - Clio, GTI golf and Subaru WRX.

Results:

Clio

Supermarket - 81 BHP
BP - 81 BHP
Shell - 81 BHP

GTI

Supermarket - 172 BHP
BP - 174 BHP
Shell - 177 BHP

WRX

Supermarket - 235 BHP
BP - 248 BHP
Shell - 249 BHP

Also tested torque:

Supermarket - 232 pounds
BP - 248 pounds
Shell - 258 pounds

It seems that Shell is the clear winner, but only in performance vehicles. I know I use Shell in my car and seems that most of us without a BP card from work do as well.

What I'm unsure about is whether it would have any affect substantially on my 320i. Any thoughts?
