Sounds like you are in the middle of a pissing contest between the dealer and your insurance company. Sucks. I would ask them to do compression and leak down tests, as well as inspect the cylinder walls with a borescope. If you plan on keeping the car for the long haul, what assurance will they give you that if the engine fails at a later date, it will be taken care of? I can tell you right now that if anything happens under warranty to that engine, the warranty claim will be DENIED! Sticky, sticky mess...
If they end up totaling the car pm me a price for the front splitters and rear spoiler please
