I was given a 86 in 70 and a court appearance. In VA speeding over 80 is called reckless driving even if it is 16mph over limit. I have never gotten one out of state and not sure what to do with it. I can't make my appearance as i live in NJ and don't want to spike up my insurance too high.
I know I shouldn't have been speeding at first place but being a open straight road, I didn't realize I did exceed.
I heard that VA is the worst state to get a moving violation, so I wanted to see what others might have.
- Do you guys recommend hiring a lawyer or just pay it?
- How many points is transferred to a different state? I m licensed in NJ.
- And what are my chances of fighting it remotely with a lawyer in VA?
