The trick with affording luxury cars and aftermarket parts is buying used and finding a good indie shop or shade tree mechanic. I've paid roughly 1/3rd of retail for everything so far and it's been barely affordable. One huge problem though and it'll be a stinker.
I'm definitely looking forward to getting a new Subaru with a warranty someday though. They have a VIP program where you can buy new cars for up to 2% under invoice if you meet all the qualifications. That's the only way I could justify buying new.
