You sound quite similar to me, unfortunately people rarely have the same standards when it comes to nit picking as I do!
Sounds like you got a good deal in the end, and probably another £500 will see it spot on
You'll probably also have to chase them for the key, as I suspect they will never bother to look for it now you've gone - which also leave a potential security issue with a lost key.
