In case of E92 the rear roundel has 3M tape on entire backside in addition to the pins that go into the little receptacles - suction cup ain't gonna pull that thing off untill you heat up the adhesive and use some other mechanical means to release it.
I actually use the dentil floss technique with a 'sawing' motion starting @ either top or bottom to break 3M tape adhesion, then pry rest of the way using one of those special nylon pry tools sold by ECS Tuning...
