Mine was siezed too. The symptom was two knocks on start up. I replaced belt and tensioner with no change. I forget who on the forum told me to check the pulley. I got the replacement pulley from getbmwparts.com and the tool and everything is good.

cool. i get a clunk on startup but i always figured it was motor mounts, would be nice if that went away.
