I myself have Aluminium trim and mine is a lease too I don't see the why the adhesive will ruin the finish. But I know it is harder to wipe off the adhesive on aluminum than the other finishing. You need to get it soak longer time with alcohol or gluegone. You can also use heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the adhesive than use alcohol or gluegone to wipe it off.
