Not sure about that but what is interesting is how many owners have the cars back and say they run very similar to before, maybe louder or quieter, but now do not get lights or codes. Same pumps as they were putting in before, so the hardware is basically the same yet no codes or lights. Could the software have changed the point at which the codes or the lights came on before and possibly raised that tolerance level to a higher level. That would keep a lot of lights and codes out of the service departments and make a very good visual impression. Maybe what used to throw a code iis now considered normal due to the software and it takes more of a problem to get a code or light. If you cant win the game then change the rules.
Sounds like paranoid nonsense until you think about what happened with 29.2 and how that may have been the first attempt to deal with the fuel pump problem.
