I just took a preemptive course of action with my car and had the fuel pump replaced (with the latest 933 part number) along with all six ignition coils to the latest spec.

Whilst the pump was being replaced, the inlet manifold was taken off so the back of the inlet valves could be inspected - very clean thankfully with minimal carbon buildup, which is great news given it's now done 50,000 fairly vigorous miles.

Will see how the head and block are doing when the engine is taken apart for a rebuild in two or three weeks time, but so far so good
