Just keep the black, it looks better.
I would have had the dremel the passenger side mesh if I just swapped a 328 grill in since I have an oil cooler, so it might not have been worth the hassle. The paint that I used is meant for plastic and it hasn't chipped at all since I painted them.
I'm sure you can find someone else to swap with in a heartbeat though.
