Has the satin finish worn well since you painted it? Id be nervous about having a touch point like that in the car that hasnt got a lacquered finish.

Mine wasn't glued it was just on clips, the above thread will give you an idea where they are.
Steering wheel has held up well and still looks new when all cleaned up
