Make sure your USB drive is formatted FAT32, copy the update file
UPD01006.bin to the root of the USB drive (not in a directory). Plug the USB drive into the console USB (under armrest, not glovebox). From your iDrive menu browse to
Settings > Software update > Update software. Wait a few seconds if you don't see anything, a prompt to update the system software should come up.
