It's almost always cheaper to keep and maintain a paid off car that's been serving you well than to get a new one. You'll likely have to sink in over $10k right off the bat to trade into an FRS/BRZ, and a huge chunk of that will be lost the second you drive it off the lot. Even budgeting for major repairs like water pump and starter won't be anywhere near that price.
