If you need side steps then an SE is your only option as they don't fit on the M Sports. In that case you really want Dynamic pack so that one could be attractive.
Xenons did become standard in later models.
Rear tyres are massive and not overly cheap as they do wear out pretty swift. Also a set of winter wheels and tyres is worth the investment as an X5 on ice is unbelievably bad.
