Not sure around USC (it's ghetto around there) but there is a damn good Mexican Food, La Taquiza, joint around the corner.

As for nightlife, you need to make a trek toward downtown. You can hit the Golden Gopher, Library Bar, the Standard (pricey), the Edison, The Association, etc.
