Do you remember which forum that was in? The rumour is that there isn't enough clearance for the transfer case for the OEM sport package suspension on an e90. Similarly, I would be concerned about such damage resulting from non-OEM springs that are intended for the Xi (i.e., will they really withstand hard driving without causing similar damage)...
