You are right, the integration does not work prior to 9/07. The sound only comes out of the unit. I'm not at all happy with the bluetooth. The nav works well and the unit looks good, no wires. Much better solution than a suction cup mount IMO.
I'm going to go install a European Professional radio. They have bluetooth, USB, and sometimes Sirius built in. Seems a lot simpler to me than installing modules.
They always seem to be available on eBay, but none there right now! You have to make sure the sticker says bluetooth on it.
