Somehow they're managing to avoid pushing the cable into the fan housing (there must be a break between the end of the fan housing and the tube/space they're coming through). The fan unit from the pictures I've seen is self contained with an air opening and similar in shape to a handheld hair dryer (only much smaller). Other's talk of a different hole much harder to access (which I don't have on my 07 335), so I connected my JB4 cable to JB4 and notched the top of ECU box (not the cover), wrapped it in plastic and tucked it away for future immediate use beside ECU box.
