Porsche and the Porsche apologist fanbois crack me up. And I've owned 3 Porsches and grew up a Porschefile.

The GT-R costs $75K and quite simply smokes both the ~$120K Turbo and ~$120K GT3. So Porsche gets wind of this and says to the apologist press and fanbois, oh yeah, what about our $190K GT2.

WTF?

The sad thing is Porsche does have a platform capable of competing with the GT-R without cheating...the Cayman. Throw in the GT3 engine and a few GT3 handling bits along with DPK and LSD and they have a sub-$100K GT-R killer. Call it the Cayman GT3. Add GT2 engine at $120K they have a world beater.

But as long as the press and fanbois let them get away with their GT-R bashing in a platform 2 1/2 times the cost, it won't happen. As long as Porsche "purists" continue to insist the inferior rear engine platform is the platform of choice, despite that fact that Porsche made their racing name with mid-engined cars, it won't happen.
