I never claimed to be an engineer. I took my car apart one day and noticed something I thought should be improved. I have replaced many stock intake hoses with aftermarket silicone on previous vehicles. After searching and finding nothing I presented the idea to a friend of mine that produces parts for VW/Audi. The hose you see in this thread is the outcome. To me, and a few others there is a noticeable difference. For some it's a better looking alternative to the stock hose. The stock hose is made of cheap plastic that gets brittle over time. This is a nicer replacement for when that happens. This may not be a huge performance mod but it looks good, gives a little more sound and is priced very reasonably.

No worries, seriously. I bought one if for no other reason than to try it out. There's no reason to muffle the intake on my car and I've no idea if it makes a huge difference there either. Given the loudness of the exhaust now I'd be surprised if I can hear anything else even with the top half of the cowl missing.

The silicone hose is well designed for what it is and the price is fair for a short run item, no complaints. Since the engine's on solid mounts now the bellows of the intake muffler wouldn't last long so this is a reliability measure to me more than anything else. I appreciate you making the effort to get it to market. Now if I could find silicone replacements for the cooling lines...
