Personally I don't like to wait until they're "barely legal" - that's 2/32" here and that's pretty marginal in the rain and lord help you if it snows. Had a little go-round with the fleet people at work about that. Now I'm in a position where I don't have a company car anymore so I've decided to roll the money that was going to personal use on the old company car into more acceptable transportation, and I get to maintain it how I see fit
