en6 - sorry I'm not trying to put a downer on this at all - just querying the kit. Everyone says it's good but I'm not sure if the BMW speakers are good enough to handle sound boosted by an amp.
I've had three cars where all I've done is fitted rear 6x9s (hatches) into an acoustic shelf and the difference has been amazing. I'm a big believer in upgrading speakers first then the rest - or doing it all at once.
Home hifi sound is probably near impossible as you say.
It's a PITA having a dad who was a pro bass player for many years (and still plays and teaches) - but I am a believer in intelligent (and often cheap) upgrades rather than just flinging cash at it.
Anyone know how much a shop would charge to install this kit? I'd be reluctant to try myself!
