Adaptive units are the bottom ones. If you can get them working they are worth it make night driving much easier with the swing movement they have.
On my LCI model the rings are switched on permanently using the DRL option on the OBC menu screen, and stay on all the time just annoyingly dim when headlights come on (need this removing soon ).
As for the rings as you can can code out the dimming I would suggest the CREE 20W per bulbs kits. I have a set and they produce best results from all the other GP thunders and LED kits and tried a few
Got my set from HIDs direct but I believe a member on here has the newer more powerful set so worth going for them. Heat is the key with the LED markers I keep my ballast for them inside the unit no issues there but I think as you get up to 32W per bulb LEDs (64W) kits you might start to get issues. Saying that OEM H8 bulbs run at that so in theory should be fine.
