Im guessing this model is to reduce its overall emissions figures, as well as fulfilling a market space for a cheap(er) city car that still has some brand kudos.
Personally think it's great for those in that price bracket. Like the mini one, same engine as the cooper (non-s) just detuned. Get it tuned up for little money, and you have 120d power with hardly any road tax.
