Coolant in combustion chamber = white smoke
Oil burning = blue smoke
Excess fuel (rich) = black smoke
Excess oxygen (lean) = no smoke (in my experience) because oxygen is colorless.

Where do you get lean = white smoke? Pls cite source and basis for info.
