Use the newer garages at the MIA and park in front of the many camera, on a high floor, up against a wall (where the pass door/ mirro is just inches from the wall so you have lots of space on the driver's side (away from any others that may park next to you). I always park in the onsite airport garages as I just described (preferably, I always leave out of FLL as I like their parking structure and security a lot better). I've never had an issue and left me car there for up to 2 weeks at a time. Mostly just 1-2 night biz trips, though.
Just don't park at one of those off site, outdoor lots just to save a couple of $$$.
