Window and door actuators are also common issues in some E9Xs
Blower motor fan for temperature controls may go out.
Neither of the above two are big issues though.
E90 N52 has been pretty solid. N54 is experiencing high press fuel pump issues- but they are warranted for 10 years from what I understand.
Take to an independent BMW mechanic before buying. Get the hidden codes read- these do not issue service engine light and are in the background (eg water pump speed deviation fault that mike referred to above)
