Thanks for the reply but that thread doesn't answer my basic question:

What else could it cause the smell that is localized from the passenger wheel well? I have spent some time searching. I also posted the images of what I'm assuming is oil grime, and hoping my assumptions can be confirmed or rejected (hopefully rejected). Also, could a leaky gasket actually cause the drips shown in the second picture.

Sorry if this is a tired topic, but Ive done some searching and didn't see a clear answer.
